I've been an FAA certificated A&P mechanic for
17+ years and flying since before I can remember. I come from an aviation
family. We have attended Oshkosh Airventure every year since 1972.
My
father, Clare, started flying in the early 1930s in the Lansing Michigan area
learning from the best, flying greats like Bob O'Dell, Roger Don Rae
and Art Davis were his early mentors. He operated Wichita Valley airport in
Wichita Falls, TX from the late 40s to the early 60s. While in Wichita Falls he
was also a TV and radio weatherman. He has flown just about everything with
wings and has taught countless people to fly in over 50 years as an instructor.
My mother, Joy learned to fly in the 1960s. She retired as an art
teacher and has run the family graphic arts business for 30+ years. Mom and
Dad still fly the family Cessna 140 that mom bought in 1967.
As
for myself, I enjoy helping and educating others in their endeavors to fly. I
was an instructor at a FAR147 approved A&P school and am currently working
on finishing a CFI-LSA instructor rating. My own Cessna 120, that I brought
home in many boxes in the back of a van, won
Best Cessna 120/140 at
Oshkosh Airventure 1998.

My flying
experience includes PIC in almost every type of vintage light plane. Over 700
hours in taildraggers and first test flights of eight experimental airplanes. I
have completed and flown 3 Zenith 601XLs, several other experimental aircraft
and assisted in many others.
